ExThaum is Thaumcraft rebuilt for 1.20.1 — research, the wand, infusion, aura and taint. It is a separate jar: keep exterminatus-latest.jar as well. Forge 47.4.10 on 1.20.1, same as everything else here. Build 2026-09-19.

Current build: exterminatus 0.3.0 + SwarmV2 2.1.0 — 2026-09-12 — THREE NEW REQUIRED MODS, everyone must re-download: Valkyrie airdrops, Simple Storage Network, hostile oceans (Thalassophobia), plus mob dismemberment, Lumen lamps, the sizeable Mining Drill and Jade (the AIR WAR: a client-drawn sky of 900 flyers — A-10 pairs strafing gargoyle flocks, Harpy duels with loops, Valkyries with red lasers and wing-pod rockets, gargoyles latching a Valkyrie and riding it down · carpet-bombing AIR RAIDS on the hive front with a siren, a raid bar, lingering haze and Explosion Overhaul blasts · the Hydra quad flak turret with a CIWS-style lead reticle and bomber markers, NPC Cadian gunners with 50-round belts · Harpies take hits and go down wing-off / burning / spinning · Helldivers-style kill tally · deployable crates in the Exterminatus creative tab). The jar link serves the newest build.

This one needs the FULL MODPACK, not the jar. Ten mods joined the roster (SwarmV2, Explosion Overhaul, Explosive Enhancement, Guard Villagers, Better Village, ChoiceTheorem’s Overhauled Village and more) and the server expects all of them. The pack file is rebuilt in place, so the button below already serves the 09-10 build.

Whatever version you are on: the jar filename carries the version, so a new one does not overwrite the old. Delete every older exterminatus-*.jar — two in mods/ will crash on launch.

Install

1. First, make the instance. In the CurseForge app: Create Custom Profile → Minecraft 1.20.1 → Modloader Forge 47.4.10. Nothing below works on a different Forge version.
2. New player: download the .zip and unzip it inside that instance's folder, so its mods and config folders land next to each other. If you already had mods there, delete mods and config first — a single leftover jar will get you turned away at the door.
3. Already playing: download exterminatus-latest.jar, drop it in mods/, and delete any older exterminatus-*.jar — the filename carries the version, so it will not overwrite the old one.
4. Fully close and relaunch the game — quitting to title is not enough. Never use /tacz reload; it breaks gun networking.
5. Allocate 12 GB in the launcher before first launch.
